When it rains it pours!

Are we the only area that has nothing but rain almost everyday this summer? I know it makes things green but this is just ridiculous.  At this point I feel like we are growing web feet!  One week we are muggy and in the eighties and the next week we are either in the sixties or low seventies. This is my favorite time of year and I just can't enjoy it. Winter is right on our heels. And I am one of those people that like to hibernate during that time. I have lived in the north east for 35 years and I still can't stand the cold. I keep telling myself we are going to relocate when hubby retires in a few years if not before that. That is the only thing that gets me through.

Two weeks ago we had a warning light come on in the car and had to pull over. Thankfully someone came along and brought us a 5 gallon jug of water. The radiator had blew. We would add a little water and race down the road a couple miles then pull over and let it cool down to try again. It took us over half an hour to go about four miles to Monroe Muffler. $546.00 later we were back on the road again.

Yesterday I was on my way to get groceries. (it is always a long ways to go to the stores). Half way there that blasted red light came on again with the warning signal. I quickly pulled over. Smoke was coming out of the hood. Hubby was working so I called the brother in law to bring water. He did but as soon as we put the water in it quickly just went right back out. Finally a tow truck came and took it to the garage. Now here I am waiting for the results of this disaster. I wish this black cloud would move on.

Who can afford a new vehicle these days? I am still paying on this one!

I hope your days are going better than mine.

  1. Hate car repairs and car payments; such a necessary evil. Need a vehicle to get around, etc. That is too bad with the amount of rain especially when it is supposed to be sunny and warm. As you may remember, I type medical reports for a living. I'm on a Florida account now. I can't tell you how many reports I've typed of people that lived in the north and then retired to Florida. Eventually the cold weather drives people south indeed.
